About Pieces to Patches

Hi, I’m Cora Hall, a passionate sewist, teacher, and creative spirit behind Pieces to Patches.

 I believe sewing is more than just a skill,  it is a way to express yourself, create something lasting, and connect with others.

 My love for sewing began when I was 11 years old,

mostly self-taught with help from my mother. 

When I started teaching my grandchildren to sew, about 10 years ago , I realized how much I  loved teaching. 

After retiring from my nursing career,  I wanted to explore my passion for teaching.  Since the skill of sewing is no longer taught in the schools,  I decided to open my business,  Pieces to Patches

Through the

years, sewing has grown into a lifelong skill that brings me joy, focus and endless inspiration. 

I have continued my education, attending many classes and events, learning the trends, new

techniques, and keeping up with new products.  

When I added quilting to my passion list,  I acquired a longarm quilting machine with a 12-foot table to be able to bring longarm quilting to my customers and students. 

I opened my shop to bring to the community the heritage of sewing and quilting, that used to be passed down from

Grandmothers to Mothers then to their children for many generations.
