Longarm Quilting at Pieces to Patches

Longarm Quilting Service

Please call to schedule your complimentary consultation appointment.

You pick the design and the thread color for both the top and the bottom portions, and can then bind the quilt yourself, or have us bind it for you. The binding fee will depend on the size of your quilt.

At your consultation, an estimate for supplies and fees will be provided and as always we will be happy to answer any questions you may have..

We will advise you and help make your quilt design complete

Tips for preparing your quilt for the longarm process...

  • Cut as many threads as possible as you do not want them to get caught under your stitching.
  • Press the top with spray starch such as Best Press. Fold neatly and hang on a hanger.
  • For the backing, cut it large enough to be 4-inches larger than your top, all the way around. There is shrinkage to the backing and batting during the longarm process, so you don’t want to be caught short.
  • Press well with spray starch as you did on the top, fold neatly and place on a hanger.

If you need to piece your backing, take off all the selvage edges before stitching. Whenever possible, sew the pieces horizontally or cross-wise.  When they are stitched vertically or up and down, the quilt tends to become uneven towards the edges.

Again, cut your batting larger, about 4-inches larger all the way around to allow for the shrinkage as mentioned above.

We reserve the right to refuse the quilting process if we find that it is not straight, borders are not measured properly.

There is a $50.00 min. for all quilts. Typical turnaround time is 3-4 weeks.
